BREAKING: Texas Officer Murdered

A San Marcos police officer was murdered Monday afternoon.

San Marcos, TX – A San Marcos police officer was murdered during a warrant service Monday afternoon.

The incident happened in the Cottonwood Creek subdivision when the officer arrived with a team of officers attempting to serve a warrant, according to KSAT.

The suspect opened fire on the officers and struck one officer multiple times. Officers returned fire and the suspect was also shot.

The officer was rushed to Central Texas Medical Center where he died.

The suspect was transported to an Austin-area hospital and his condition as not been released.

The identities of the officer and suspect have not been released at this time.
