BREAKING: Shooter At Northwestern University ‘Not A Drill’

Police are responding to a reported shooter at Northwestern University.

Evanston, IL – Law enforcement officers are responding to shots fired in a dorm at Northwestern University.

Chicago Tribune reports that the shooting report is at the Frank C. Engelhart graduate residence hall at Emerson Street and Maple Avenue.

People are being told to seek shelter and avoid the area.

UPDATE: Police have so far been unable to locate a shooter or victim. Shelter in place order still in effect.

UPDATE: Police have identified this incident as a “swatting” hoax. There was no shooting.
