BREAKING: Sheriff’s Deputy Shot In Seattle, Police In Standoff With Gunman

King County, WA – A King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) detective was shot on Monday morning as he was serving an eviction notice in Ballard, and now authorities are in a standoff with the gunman.

Seattle police said the incident occurred just before 9:30 a.m. on March 20 near 8th Avenue Northwest and Northwest 54th Street, KCPQ reported.

The detective was reportedly serving an eviction notice on a home located in the 800-block of Northwest 54th Street in Seattle when the suspect opened fire on him.

The wounded hero was transported to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition, KCPQ reported.

Sheriff’s department officials have not yet released any update on his medical condition, nor have they publicly identified the wounded detective.

Seattle police officers and King County sheriff’s deputies are engaged in an ongoing standoff with the suspect, who is barricaded inside his residence,  reported.

Streets are shut down and residents have been asked to avoid the area.
