Houston, TX – Police have responded to a report of an “active shooter” in southwest Houston on Wednesday afternoon after at least one person was shot at an area business.
The Houston Fire Department said an active shooter was reported in the 3800-block of Cummins Street near Greenway Plaza, KTRK reported.
Houston police confirmed that at least one person had been shot at a business, KHOU reported.
Authorities were asking people to avoid the area.
Houston SWAT officers have responded to the scene, according to KTRK.
Police have not released any information about suspects in the shooting, nor have officials said what led up to the incident.
Officers were searching the area for the gunman and other victims, KPRC reported.
