BREAKING: Police Respond To Shooting At Virginia High School

Newport News, VA – There are reports that at least one person was shot at Heritage High School in Newport News on Monday morning.

Police from multiple law enforcement agencies have responded to Heritage High School which is located in the 5800-block of Marshall Avenue, WAVY reported.

The school has been placed on lockdown.

The Newport News Police Department said the school was being evacuated and students were being sent to the tennis courts, WAVY reported.

Police said parents could meet their children on the tennis courts.

Officials have not confirmed how many people have been shot and whether they were students or staff.

Sources told WVEC that at least one person had been shot but had no information on the victim’s condition.

Achievable Dream Academy, which is located nearby, has also been placed on lockdown, WAVY reported.

Agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) Norfolk field office are responding to the scene to assist, according to ABC News.
