Arvada, CO – A police officer was murdered Monday afternoon while responding to a call about a suspicious person in a shopping district.
The incident happened in the area of 57th and Ole Wadsworth just before 2 p.m., according to CBS4.
An officer who responded to the call was killed along with a citizen and a suspect, according to the Denver Post.
The Colorado Sun reports that one suspect was killed, and a second suspect was wounded and transported to the hospital.
None of the people involved have been identified at this time.
“Obviously it’s a horribly sad day for Arvada and for the region,” Arvada Mayor Marc Williams said, according to the Denver Post. “There’s been so much of this. You hate to see it happen anywhere, but to see it happen in your community really brings it home.”
The Arvada Police Department is not searching for any additional suspects.

The suspect is also dead. Arvada Police Detective Dave Snelling said a third person, possibly a "Samaritan," was also killed.
