BREAKING: One Dead, More Wounded As ‘Active Shooter’ Continues Firing From Michigan Hotel

Dearborn, MI – At least one person has been killed and several more are wounded after an “active shooter” opened fire from a hotel room in the Hampton Inn in Dearborn Michigan and authorities said that the gunman is still firing.

Michigan State Police (MSP) said the “active shooting scene” was still underway and urged people to avoid the area around the Hampton Inn, located in the 22,300-block of Michigan Avenue, WDIV reported.

“There are still shots being fired by the suspect. Troopers and officers are working on clearing the entire area around the hotel,” the state police said.

MSP said “this situation is active and dangerous. Stay away from the scene.”

Dearborn police said the gunman is not in custody, but the situation is contained, WDIV reported.

Sources said the gunman is barricaded inside a third-floor room in the hotel, although details have not been confirmed by authorities.

Employees from the hotel told WXYZ that the deadly incident began as an eviction.
