Little Rock, AR – One of the Pine Bluff police officers who was shot on Monday afternoon has died.
Two Pine Bluff police officers were shot at the Econo Lodge on North Blake Street at about noon on Oct. 5, KATV reported.
Both officers were airlifted to University of Arkansas Medical School in Little Rock for treatment.
Arkansas State Police said that one of the officers did not survive his wounds, KATV reported.
Pine Bluff police officials have not yet released the name of either officer.
Police said officers were investigating in the area when the shooting began, KATV reported.
Authorities have taken multiple people have been taken into custody and at least one of those people has been identified as a suspect.
The shootings come just one month after Pine Bluff Police Chief Kelvin Sergeant was fired and reinstated by the mayor, according to KATV.
