Harrisburg, PA – Two officers were shot during a warrant service early Thursday morning, and were transported to a local hospital by ambulance.
One of the officers, a U.S. Marshal, has since succumbed to his injuries, according to Penn Live reported.
The incident occurred at approximately 6:10 a.m. in the area of South 18th and Mulberry streets, Dauphin county District Attorney Fran Chardo said.
One person was shot by officers, but that person’s condition has also not been released.
Police said that the shooting suspect is inside a residence, and that the county’s Crisis Response Team was working to clear the home.
It is unknown if the suspect is now in custody, or what condition he is in. UPDATE: The suspect is dead.
Police are clearing residences in the area, and traffic is being detoured from the scene, WGAL reported.
