BREAKING: Officers Called To Suicide, Two Cops Get Shot Upon Arrival

After responding what was reported to be a completed suicide, the officers arrived and were shot.

Roane County, WV – Two officers have been shot in Roane County after responding to a call for a male who had committed suicide.

West Virginia State Police and Roane County Sheriff’s Office responded to call from a woman at 6 p.m. who said that a man in the house had committed suicide at Red Oak Drive off of Price Ridge Road, according to WOWK.

The troopers and at least one deputy arrived and were approaching the house when 52-year-old Stanley Gordon Hoskins Jr. opened fire on them, shooting one trooper and one deputy. Hoskins is the person whom the 911 caller believed was already dead.

The female caller was able to escape from the house and the suspect is barricaded inside.

The law enforcement officers are expected to survive their bullet wounds.

SWAT is on scene.

UPDATE: The suspect was located hiding under the home and was taken into custody.
