BREAKING: Officer Shot Serving Warrant

Jacksonville, FL – An officer from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) was shot while serving a warrant on Monday morning.

The incident occurred at about 9 a.m. on Sept. 28 when JSO SWAT officers and Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) agents were serving a warrant at a home in the 7200-block of Rutledge Pearson Drive, WJXT reported.

Sources told WJXT that a shot was fired from inside the home.

Police have blocked off streets and asked residents to avoid the area, WJXT reported.

Officials have not released any detailed information on the officer who was shot but there were multiple reports that he was expected to survive his wounds.

The shooting scene is located nearby Ribault Middle and Senior High schools, but officials said the schools were not in lockdown, WJAX reported.
