Queens, NY – A port authority police officer was run down by a fleeing suspect on Saturday at the JFK international airport.
The events leading up to the collision have not been officially released, but one witness posted to Twitter that they thought it was an Uber driver trying to run down police and other people.
The officer who was struck is expected to survive, according to NBC News.
Authorities have not yet announced if the suspect has been apprehended.
UPDATE: The unidentified female officer was with her partner near terminal 8 when they approached the suspect car and it drove at them. The officer jumped out of the way into another moving vehicle. She has non-life threatening injuries. The suspect was able to escape.
