Bossier City, LA – Multiple people were shot, including a police officer, at a gas station in Louisiana on Tuesday morning.
The incident occurred at about 10:30 a.m. on May 2 at the Valero gas station located on Industrial Drive off I-20 near East Texas Street, near the LeBossier Hotel & Event Center, in Bossier City, KSLA reported.
Bossier City police officers responded to 911 calls reporting shots fired at the gas station.
Police said the suspect allegedly shot a store clerk during a robbery attempt, KEEL reported.
Officials said that the suspect began shooting at the responding officers as soon as they arrived on the scene, KSLA reported.
A Bossier City police officer was shot multiple times, according to authorities.
The extent of the wounded hero’s injuries was unknown, KSLA reported.
KEEL reported that the officer had been shot in the shoulder and leg, but officials have not yet confirmed those details.
Police said there were multiple victims wounded by gunfire at the scene, although no exact numbers have been released.
Officials also haven’t said what condition the victims were in, although they said some had suffered life-threatening gunshot wounds, KSLA reported.
Sources told KEEL that the store clerk who was shot was not expected to survive his wounds.
Police have not yet released any information on the suspects.
Ambulances responded to the scene to transport the wounded to nearby medical facilities.
Bossier City Mayor Tommy Chandler was also on the scene, according to KSLA.
The Louisiana State Police are assisting local authorities in their investigation of the officer-involved shooting.
