BREAKING: Officer Being Rushed To Hospital For Self-Inflicted Gunshot

A Jersey City police officer is fighting for his life after a suffering a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Jersey City, NJ – A Jersey City police officer has died after shooting himself on Sunday night.

According to RLS Media, the shooting happened at around 8 p.m. in the 300 block of Woodlawn Avenue.

Preliminary information from RLS Media is that the officer suffered a self-inflicted gunshot to the chest.

The circumstances around the shooting and what preceded the shooting have not been released.

NJ.com reports that the The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating. They also report that sources identified the officer as having just graduated the academy a year ago.
