BREAKING: Off-Duty Officer Killed, Multiple More People Shot In North Carolina

Raleigh, NC – An off-duty police officer was killed and multiple other people were shot on Thursday in Raleigh.

Raleigh police said officers had responded to an “active shooting scene” on Oct. 13 near Neuse River Greenway by Osprey Cove Drive and Bay Harbor Drive, WTVD reported.

A high-level city official told WRAL that an off-duty officer had been fatally shot during the incident.

Police sources have confirmed to the media that multiple other people were also shot and several had died.

Officials have not yet confirmed the number of victims or their medical conditions.

Wake Med confirmed that it had received three patients from the shooting at the trauma unit, WRAL reported.

Police said there were multiple crime scene associated with the incident, WTVD reported.

Police have locked the area down and asked residents to remain in their homes until the gunman has been apprehended.
