Elmira, NY – A New York State Police trooper was shot during one of two officer-involved shootings at two different locations in Elmira on Friday morning.
Elmira Police Chief Anthony Alvernaz said that one of the incidents happened in at Eldridge Park and the second shooting occurred at Woodlawn Cemetery near Davis Street, WHEC reported.
The wounded trooper was transported to the hospital.
Witnesses reported hearing seven or eight gunshots shortly before 12 p.m. on Aug. 27, WETM reported.
There are unconfirmed reports that someone was shot multiple times.
Elmira police confirmed they have the suspect in both shootings in custody.
There has been two officer involved shootings, one at Eldridge Park and one at Woodlawn cemetery involving the same suspect. One NYS Trooper was injured and has been transported. No other officers were injured. Suspect in custody.

State police have said no other troopers were in injured, WHEC reported.
Officials have not released the identity of the wounded trooper, nor have they released any information on his medical condition.
