Belmont, NC – A Mount Holly police officer and two other individuals were hospitalized after an officer-involved shooting at a carwash early on Friday morning.
The incident occurred at approximately 3 a.m. on Dec. 11 at the Mount Holly Car Wash on Beatty Drive north of Interstate 85, WSOC reported.
According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police, the shooting occurred after police intercepted an armed burglary suspect.
Gaston County Communications radio traffic captured the moments after the officer was wounded, WSOC reported.
“Officer down! Officer down! Got an officer shot!” one of the officers radioed.
The officer also said the suspect was “down.”
The conditions of the officer and the suspect have not been released.
