Superior Township, MI – A Washtenaw County deputy was shot after responding to a report of a shots fired call on Wednesday afternoon.
Police responded the 8300-block of Lakeview Court at approximately 2 p.m. after receiving a report of an exchange of gunfire between two residents, WDIV reported.
The suspect allegedly opened fire on the officers when they arrived at the scene, hitting a Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) deputy.
The deputy has been rushed to a local hospital and is listed in stable condition, The Detroit News reported.
The Washtenaw County Metro SWAT team, Ann Arbor police, and the WCSO are currently at the scene attempting to negotiate with the gunman, who is still barricaded inside a residence, police said.
Investigators do not know if there is anyone else inside the house with the suspect, according to WDIV.
Residents have been asked to stay away from the area.
