Billings, MT – An armed suspect drove his car through Big Bear Sports in Billings Saturday morning, and has been shooting at police.
The incident started Saturday morning after Walmart employees kicked the suspect out of their store for attempting to steal firearms, according to KTVQ.
The man left the Walmart and drove his vehicle through the entrance of Big Bear Sports Center, which was closed at the time.
When police arrived, a gunfight broke out between the officers and suspect.
A patrol car was hit, but none of the officers were wounded. It’s unknown if the suspect was hit in the gunfight.
The suspect retreated back into the store and barricaded himself.
City dump trucks have been set up as cover for the officers.
Negotiators are actively working to talk the suspect down.
UPDATE: Another gunfight broke out between the officers and suspect. The officers then sent in a K9 and an ambulance transported somebody away.
UPDATE: Suspect came out pointing a rifle at officers and got smoked. No officers hurt.
