BREAKING: Lowndes County Sheriff Murdered At Gas Station

Lowndes County Sheriff John Williams was murdered Saturday night.

Haynesville, AL – Lowndes County Sheriff John Williams was fatally shot on a call for service at a gas station Saturday night.

UPDATE: The sheriff was murdered just after 8 p.m. at a QV convenience store, according to AL.com.

The suspect, 18-year-old William Chase Johnson, stole the sheriff’s patrol car after the shooting. The vehicle has since been recovered abandoned.

The killer remains on the run as of 11 p.m.

UPDATE: The suspect surrendered to authorities early Sunday morning.

Johnson is described as a white male, 5-foot 9-inches, 137 pounds. Anybody who sees him should call 911 immediately.

Multiple law enforcement agencies, including the State Bureau of Investigations are en route to the scene, according to Montgomery Advertiser.
