BREAKING: LAPD Officer Shot – Citywide Tactical Alert Issued

LAPD has issued a citywide tactical alert after an officer was shot Saturday night.

Los Angeles, CA – A Los Angeles Police Department officer was shot in the line of duty Saturday night.

At around 9:30 p.m. an LAPD gang enforcement officer conducted a traffic stop in the area of 52nd St and Long Beach Ave when a gunfight broke out, according to Sara Donchey.

One unidentified officer was shot in the gunfight along with an unidentified suspect.

A second suspect was able to flee the scene and escape. There is now a massive manhunt in progress for the suspect and LAPD has issued a citywide tactical alert.

The wounded officer was transported to the hospital where they are in stable condition.

The condition of the wounded suspect was not released.

Police had advised that the escaped suspect is armed, but no other information has been released about that suspect as of the time of this writing.

UPDATE: After reviewing video, LAPD now believed that there was only one gunman.
