BREAKING: Gunman Opens Fire In Florida Walmart

Lauderdale Lakes, FL – Police say a gunman shot a man multiple times at a Walmart store on Tuesday in Florida.

The broad-daylight attack occurred at the Walmart store located at 3001 North State Road 7 in Lauderdale Lakes at approximately 2 p.m. on May 2, CBS News reported.

Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) deputies rushed to the scene after receiving a report of a shooting and found a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Police said the victim was inside the store when they located him, according to WSVN.

The victim was airlifted from the scene and flown to Broward General Hospital, WTVJ reported.

His identity was not immediately released and no details were provided regarding his condition.

Police said the gunman fled the scene on a scooter after the attack, WSVN reported.

They said someone matching the gunman’s description has been taken into custody.

A news helicopter spotted police with a handcuffed individual who was sitting on a sidewalk near 26th Street and 46th Avenue, WSVN reported.

That person’s identity has not been released.

Video footage from the scene showed multiple fire and emergency medical units on standby in the store parking lot, CBS News reported.

Footage also showed law enforcement officers outside the business with their firearms in hand.

Investigators said no one else was injured in the attack, CBS News reported.

Police have not released a potential motive and it is unclear whether the victim was specifically targeted.
