BREAKING: Gunman Opens Fire In Florida Walmart

Florida City, FL – Multiple people were shot inside a Walmart store in Florida City on Wednesday afternoon.

The incident occurred at about 3 p.m. on July 19 at the big box store located in the 33,000-block of South Dixie Highway near the Florida Turnpike, CBS News reported.

Miami-Dade police said that three people were shot inside the store and one woman suffered a serious head injury when she fell while trying to run from the gunfire.

One of the gunshot victims was airlifted to Jackson South Trauma Center for treatment, CBS News reported.

He was later pronounced dead at that hospital.

Another victim was transported to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the foot, CBS News reported.

EMS also transported a woman who tripped while trying to flee the terrifying scene, according to police.

Miami-Dade police said officers had taken the shooter into custody at the scene, CBS News reported.

Officials have not yet said what connection the gunman may have had to any of his victims, nor have they publicly released his name.

Authorities have also not yet identified the man who was killed, or the people who were wounded.

It was not yet known whether the shooting spree was a targeted attack on any of the victims, or whether the victims knew each other, CBS News reported.

Miami-Dade police were assisting Florida City police with the investigations of the shootings.
