BREAKING: Gunman At Large After Shooting At Las Vegas Middle School

Las Vegas, NV – One person was shot at a middle school in Las Vegas on Monday afternoon and the shooter has not been apprehended.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) said it received a report of the shooting at about 12:38 p.m. on May 8 at the Von Tobel Middle School, located at the intersection of Pecos Road and Carey Avenue, KSNV reported.

One adult was shot, according to authorities.

The wounded person was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Von Tobel Principal Leonardo Amador sent an email out to the school community that said the shooting occurred on campus but outside of the school building, KSNV reported.

The school went into lockdown and nobody else was injured, according to authorities.

The principal said all students had been accounted for and remained locked down in their classrooms.

The school said that a controlled release would be orchestrated by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office after the lockdown was lifted, KSNV reported.

Police said the suspect remains at large but have not yet released any information about the shooter.

Authorities have also not released any information about the medical condition of the victim, nor what led up to the incident.

Officials also haven’t said whether the person who was shot was a school employee or a parent, or if they had any connection to the school.
