BREAKING: Gunman Ambushes, Shoots L.A. County Deputy In Station Parking Lot

A Los Angeles County Deputy was shot in the Lancaster station parking lot.

Lancaster, CA – A gunman ambushed and shot a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputy in the Lancaster station parking lot Wednesday afternoon.

The incident occurred just after 2:45 p.m., according to KTLA.

The deputy was standing in the station parking lot when he was shot in the shoulder by a gunman.

Other deputies on scene were fired upon but were not struck by the gunfire.

Authorities believe that the gunman was firing at them from an elevated position in a nearby building.

The suspect is at large, and no suspect description has been released at this time.

The manhunt for the suspect appears to be focused on a nearby apartment complex.

UPDATE: The Lancaster mayor says that the wounded officer “is going to be okay.”
