BREAKING: Gunman ‘Actively Shooting At Police’ In Texas

Round Rock, TX – Police in Round Rock have asked residents to shelter-in-place while they respond to a gunman who was “actively shooting at police” on Saturday afternoon.

The incident began just after 1 p.m. on May 7 near the Behrens Ranch and Mira Vista neighborhoods, KVUE reported.

“The individual is actively shooting at police,” Round Rock police tweeted. “Anyone in the vicinity of Old Settlers Blvd and Sam Bass Road should shelter in place. Those outside this area should stay away. TIME: 1:15pm Saturday.”

Neighbors on social media reported the arrival of SWAT officers on the scene.

Officials have not yet said whether anyone was shot but social media posts indicated there was at least one victim.

Shortly after 3 p.m. local time, Round Rock police tweeted that officers had identified a possible suspect in a wooded area near Old Settlers Boulevard and Bent Tree Drive.

Police urged media to clear the area because some reporters were too close to the active scene.

Multiple law enforcement agencies have responded to the scene to assist Round Rock police, including the Pflugerville police, Cedar Park police, Leander police, and Georgetown police.

The Williamson County Elections Office shut down the polling location at Fern Bluff MUD Community Center in Round Rock and advised voters to go to alternative voting centers in the area, KVUE reported.
