BREAKING: Florida Police Officer Shot By Gunman

Eustis, FL – Florida police are searching for a gunman who shot a Eustis police officer and fled the area on Thursday afternoon.

According to the Lake County Sheriff’s office, the incident occurred near a Winn Dixie store near State Road 44 and State Road 19 just after 12:15 p.m., WESH reported.

Details regarding what led up to the shooting have not been released.

The wounded officer was flown to Orlando Regional Medical Center, and has been listed in stable condition.

The search for the gunman continues.
