Los Angeles, CA – A Los Angeles Police Department officer was shot overnight in what is being described as an ambush-style attack.
Preliminary information is that at approximately 9:50 p.m. LAPD Rampart officers conducted a pedestrian stop in the area of Hartford and Linwood, according to LAPD.
A suspect opened fire on the officer in what LAPD is calling an ambush, according to KCAL.
The exact circumstances about the ambush weren’t immediately reported as the scene is still active.
The officer was shot in the thigh and the suspect or suspects fled.
The officer was identified only as a female officer who is in stable condition.
One suspect was taken into custody and there appears to be an ongoing search in the area at the time of this writing.
