BREAKING: Female Arkansas Police Officer Shot In Ambush Attack

A Bryant police officer was shot in the line of duty on Monday night.

Bryant, AR – A female Arkansas police officer was shot on Monday night while she was responding to a report of a suicidal person.

The attack occurred at The Greens at Hurricane Creek apartment complex at 5100 Hurricane Drive at approximately 8 p.m., the Arkansas Democrat Gazette reported.

The suspect opened fire on Bryant police when they arrived outside the apartment complex, hitting the female officer.

Her fellow officers returned fire, killing the gunman.

The wounded officer was airlifted to the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Hospital in Little Rock, The Arkansas Democrat Gazette reported.

Her condition was not released as early Tuesday morning, according to ABC News.

KARK reported that the officer has been stabilized, but no other information was released.

“We just want everyone to be praying for her recovery,” Bryant Police Sergeant Todd Crowson told KLRT.

The Arkansas State Police are handling the ongoing investigation into the officer-involved shooting.
