BREAKING: Deputy Shot By Gunman In Ohio

A Franklin county deputy has been shot in Columbus.

Columbus, Ohio – A Franklin county sheriff’s deputy was shot Saturday evening.

Police were involved in a pursuit at around 6:45 p.m. in the area of Harrisburg Pike and Hopkins Ave, according to 10TV.

During the pursuit, a deputy called out that he had been shot.

NBC4 reports that the deputy has been transported to Grant Medical Center in critical condition.

The suspect was destroyed in the gunfight, according to NBC4.

The reason for the pursuit has not been reported at this time. Neither the suspect or deputy have been identified.

UPDATE: Doctors say deputy should survive.
