BREAKING: At Least 3 Civilians Dead, 2 Cops Shot By Active Shooter In New Mexico

Farmington, NM – Two police officers were shot and at least three civilians were killed by an active shooter in Farmington on Monday.

Police said the incident began shortly before 11 a.m. on May 15 when a gunman opened fire near Dustin Avenue and East Navio Street,  reported.

Three civilians were fatally shot by the gunman.

There is no word on how many other civilians may have been injured during the incident.

Two officers were wounded in a gunfight with the suspect, KOAT reported.

Police said officers confronted the gunman and the shooter was killed in an exchange of gunfire with police.

The wounded officers were transported to San Juan Regional Medical Center for treatment of their injuries, KOAT reported.

Officials have not yet released any information about details of the heroes’ injuries.

However, they said that one of the wounded officers was a member of the Farmington Police Department and the other wounded hero is a member of the New Mexico State Police.

Authorities also have not yet identified the civilians or the gunman, KOAT reported.
