BREAKING: Arizona Officer Shot By Gunman

Nogales, AZ – A Nogales police officer was shot Friday afternoon.

The shooting happened in the area of Grand Ave and W Mesa Verde, according to Nogales PD.

UPDATE: The officer was responding to a carjacking at the time he was shot.

Nogales PD said that they have the gunman in custody and there are no more suspect on the loose.

The officer has been airlifted to Tucson in critical condition.

UPDATE: The officer has succumbed to his injuries.

Nogales is located in southern Arizona next to the U.S./Mexican Border.
