BREAKING: Active Shooter Attacks Michigan High School, Multiple Victims

Oxford, MI – An active shooter opened fire at Oxford High School on Tuesday afternoon, killing at least three students and wounding other victims.

The incident began shortly after 1 p.m., Oakland County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) Undersheriff Michael McCabe said, according to NBC News.

Investigators said there were between four and six victims.

Three students were fatally shot during the attack, Undersheriff McCabe said during a press conference Tuesday afternoon.

The students’ ages have not been released.

Sources told WDIV that one of the victims was shot in the face.

The conditions of the wounded victims have not been released, NBC News reported.

Undersheriff McCabe said at least one of the wounded is a teacher.

“We are still doing a secondary search of the school for any further victims,” Undersheriff McCabe told reporters.

The undersheriff said the suspected gunman has been taken into custody.

The shooter’s firearm, a semi-automatic handgun, has also been recovered, he said.

The gunman is a 15-year-old Oxford High School student, Undersheriff McCabe said.

No motive has been released.

The suspect has refused to speak with investigators and has requested an attorney, Undersheriff McCabe told reporters.

The scene is still active and multiple ambulances are present at the school along with law enforcement officers and a SWAT team, NBC News reported.

More than 100 people called 911 to report the active shooter, Undersheriff McCabe said.

Officers had the suspect in custody within five minutes of the initial 911 call, he noted.

Evacuated students will be transported to a local store, where they will be reunified with their families.
