Hyattsville, MD – Three Prince George’s County police officers were shot while responding to a home invasion robbery on Sunday evening.
Prince George’s County police said the incident occurred at about 6:35 pm on Aug. 23 when officers responded to a home in the 1300-block of Capitol View Terrace, according to WBAL.
Three of the officers who responded to the scene were shot.
Police returned fire but did not hit the gunmen, WBAL reported.
Two suspects were taken into custody.
Three police officers and one civilian were transported to area hospitals, WBAL reported.
Reports said that one officer had been shot in the chest and another officer had been shot in the leg.
There was no information about where the third officer had been wounded.
Police have not yet released the identity of the wounded officers or civilian.
