BREAKING: 3 Killed, 2 Injured At University Of Virginia, Shooter Still At Large

Charlottesville, VA – Three people were killed and two other victims were wounded after a gunman opened fire on the University of Virginia (UVA) campus on Sunday night.

Police said the shooter, who is allegedly a UVA student, remained on the loose on Monday morning, WTOP reported.

He has been identified as Christopher Darnell Jones, UVA President Jim Ryan said in an alert to the university community issued at approximately 4 a.m. on Nov. 14.

Jones was last seen wearing blue jeans, red shoes, and a burgundy jacket, WTOP reported.

He may be driving a black SUV with the Virginia license plate of TWX3580.

Ryan advised the university community that classes were canceled for Monday and that students should continue to shelter in place while the search for Jones continued, WTOP reported.

The deadly attack occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Nov. 13.

“The suspect remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous,” Ryan wrote. “Multiple law enforcement agencies are coordinating to find and apprehend him.”

The University of Virginia Police Department (UVAPD) issued regular updates on Twitter throughout Sunday night and Monday morning instructing the university community to “remain sheltered in place.”

UVA Emergency management said the shooting occurred at Culbreth Garage.

A motive for the mass shooting was not immediately released.

Police have not released the identities of the victims, but the family of UVA linebacker and defensive end D’Sean Perry identified him as one of the people who was fatally shot, the Bristol Herald Courier reported.

According to a 2018 roster, Jones was a former member of the UVA football team, but he never played a game, FOX News reported.
