BREAKING: 2 Ohio SWAT Officers Shot

Columbus, OH – Two Franklin County sheriff’s deputies were shot during an incident in the North Linden neighborhood on Tuesday morning.

The altercation occurred in the 2700-block of Beulah Road at approximately 8 a.m. on July 21, Franklin County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) Public Information Officer Marc Gofstein told WCMH.

The FCSO SWAT team and Columbus police were attempting to serve a probate warrant when the shooting occurred.

Two deputies were struck by gunfire.

Sources at the scene told WCMH that both officers were shot in their legs.

WCMH reported that the wounded deputies were rushed to Grant Medical Center for treatment but WBNS said they were both transported to Riverside Methodist Hospital.

Their wounds are not believed to be life threatening; however, no official word on the officers’ conditions has been released, WCMH reported.

Information regarding what led up to the shooting has not been released.

The suspect has barricaded himself in a home and multiple law enforcement agencies have responded to the scene to assist, WSYX reported.
