Stockbridge, GA – At least two police officers were shot and one hostage was killed in an ongoing shooter situation in Henry County on Thursday morning.
WGCL reported that at least one citizen was dead and that police are now considering the scene an “active hostage situation.”
Police said that the gunman has barricaded himself inside a home on Eagle Way and the SWAT team has set up outside, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
The Henry County Police Department posted a message on Twitter advising residents of an “active incident” and telling them to avoid the area at about 11:22 a.m.
WSB reported that Interstate 75 had been shut down to allow the ambulances swift passage to Grady Memorial Hospital.
The wounded officers’ conditions were unknown and their identities have not been released.
Police have not released the identity of the gunman or the hostage who was killed, WSB reported.
