Biloxi Police Officer, 4 Others Shot At Spring Break Event At Surf Shop

Biloxi, MS – Five people, including a Biloxi police officer, were wounded in a shooting at a surf shop in Southern Mississippi on Sunday.

The incident occurred at about 5:30 p.m. on April 16 at the Surf Style Surf Shop located on Highway 90-Beach Boulevard in Biloxi, WGNO reported.

Biloxi police said there was a large crowd of spring breakers at the shop for an event when gunfire erupted.

Officials said that as officers started responding to the scene, more shots were fired from another location, WGNO reported.

A Biloxi police officer was shot while searching the area for the gunman, according to his department.

Police officers also found four more civilian gunshot victims as they searched the area after the chaos, WGNO reported.

All five of the wounded were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Authorities said all of victims, including the Biloxi officer, remained in the hospital in stable condition, WGNO reported.

Biloxi police are investigating the shooting but have not announced any information regarding a suspect, nor have they made any arrests in connection with the shooting spree.
