Armed Security Guard Disarms Rioter Firing Rifle Stolen From Seattle Cop Cars

A new crew's security guard saw rioters stealing rifles from police cars, and he took them back.

Seattle, WA – Rioters broke into police vehicles and stole the rifles from inside Saturday night, then at least one of them started firing the rifle at vehicles.

An armed security guard in the area wasn’t about to wait for anybody to get hurt, and disarmed the rioter.

Dramatic video captured the moment the guard ran towards an armed rioter with his pistol drawn and ordered the suspect to drop the gun.

The security guard then disarmed the man without incident and secured the weapon for law enforcement.

The name of the guard has not been released, but KCPQ reporter Brandi Kruse identified the man as the security guard hired to protect her news crew.

Amazingly, Kruse also revealed that this was the second rifle that her guard took from rioters.

Kruse released video of one of the rioters firing the stolen rifle before her guard disarmed him.

Rioting in Seattle spiraled out of control Saturday, with the city putting in a request for aid from nearby agencies.

Governor Jay Inslee has activated 200 Washington National Guard soldiers to respond to Seattle.

“The National Guard is on stand by to assist the Seattle Police Department as requested by Mayor Durkan,” Inslee said, according to KHQ. “They will be unarmed and assist with infrastructure protection and crowd movement. They will only be utilized if absolutely necessary and we appreciate their efforts to help in this important work.”
